Stream: Lily Allen - 'Everyone's At It'

Very true title, well if you're a fifteen year-old-boy that is. Everyone's at it, but you!

This is a song from the upcoming Lily Allen album 'It's not Me, It's You' which is due out in February.

Live: Staind at the Academy

Staind, I remember them from my teenage years. Well, other people's teenage years. Mine was more Chris Cornell and Jeff Buckley-infused.

For those of you who still hold a soft spot for them in your bitterly-scarred heart, Staind will play Dublin's Academy on January 19th.

Tickets cost €29.50 and are on sale now.

Here's their new video for 'Believe':

Album Cover: Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion

Possible album cover from myanimalhome. Looks damn cool. Holy shit, it moves!

Album News: M Ward - Hard Time

She & Him are great, aren't they? Whoever thought actresses could sing? Not Madonna anyway, she uses far too much trickery (must resist Guy Ritchie comment!).

His new album Hard Time will be released in the States on February 17th, 2009, so expect an Irish release date of Valentine's Day (that's February 14th fellas, remember this year!)

Zooey Deschanel is set to make an appearance on this record too, as will Lucinda Williams. Should be good.

The tracklist will be:
'For Beginners'
'Never Had Nobody Like You'
'Jailbird'
'Hold Time'
'Rave On'
'To Save Me'
'One Hundred Million Years'
'Stars of Leo'
'Fisher of Men'
'Oh Lonesome Me'
'Epistemology'
'Blake's View'
'Shangri-La'
'Outro'

Cancelled: The Human League at TriPod

Bad news if you were planning to go to TriPod to see the Human League. They've pulled out due to "technical difficulties" (isn't that RTE's excuse?)

Good news, however, if you had intended to go to see Heaven 17 and ABC. They are still due to play, and no doubt will go on longer. Also, tickets have gone down in price by twenty euro. Whoever said "we get nothing for free"? You will be entitled to a cash refund at the gig, or else you can get a full refund from place of purchase if you decide not to go.

For now, remember them as they were:

Download: Keane - Warchild live at Brixton Academy

Have you heard the new Keane record yet? It's pretty decent. In the words of Borat: "I like!"

Anyhow, if you haven't had a chance to hear it, why not check out their WarChild gig at the Brixton Academy. The gig features a Brendan Benson guitar guest spot on Queen's 'Under Pressure'.

Setlist:
'Crystal Ball'
'Somewhere Only We Know'
'The Night Sky'
'The Last Time'
'Is It Any Wonder'
'Under Pressure'
'Bedshaped'

Watch: Pete Yorn - 'American Blues, Vol. 1'

I loved Pete Yorn's debut album Musicforthemorning after. If you haven't heard it, it's kind of in the same vein as Will Johnston (him of Centro-matic/South San Gabriel). His two follow-up records didn't have the same impact, but were worthy releases nonetheless. Therefore any new material he releases, I definitely want to hear.

Here's what Pete had to say about it himself.

I wrote American Blues Vol. 1. on the 4th of July after reading the morning paper. It's unlike any song I've ever written. I was moved by how much negativity I was reading about and how even groups were boycotting Independence Day because they were so disgusted with the state of our Nation. I was hoping things would improve...they obviously haven't yet...but I know they will in time. I sent the song to some friends and one of them (a really old friend of mine who is actually a huge reason I didn't give up on a musical career back in 1998) was really affected by the message. He always has had an unwavering faith in America and has always been able to laugh when times got tough. The video for American Blues Vol. 1 was made by this friend of mine. He is not a video-director...just a guy from New Jersey who wanted to put images to a song that hit home for him. He wanted me to share it.....so here is American Blues Vol. 1.

Stream: The Raveonettes - Beauty Dies EP

Another month, another Raveonettes EP. Lucky they're good. Prolific, but good. This time, it's a four song EP, and is amazingly, not their last of the year. Expect a Christmas EP before 2008 is over. Nice!

Download: Ryan Adams - Stereo Sweets

A song so good it didn't make it onto Cardinology. As many of you already know, Ryan works best live. As you will see in November. I can't wait.

Anyhow, Ryan and the Cardinals unleashed another new song, 'Stereo Sweets', and as expected, it's damn good.

Live: The Prodigy to support Oasis at Slane

Another support act announced for the return of Slane. The Prodigy join Kasabian and the Enemy as supporting acts for the Gallagher brothers (who are 100% Irish allegedly). Expect a real Irish act to be announced as support (there always is) before Friday. As soon as I hear, I'll let you know.

Tickets are priced from €76.50 to €86.50 and go on sale this Friday (October 24th). Think they're limited to two for person, so if a group is going to Slane, you'll have to go to Ticketmaster as a group too!

Watch The Prodigy at the Point 14 years ago (well, just the audio):

Download: The Kybosh - 'Descent' and more

Irish band The Kybosh release a mini-album (or EP) tomorrow. There's a launch party for Until We are Lost in Whelan's upstairs, and should be pretty excellent.

Download:
The Kybosh - 'Descent'
The Kybosh - 'Until We Are Lost'
The Kybosh - 'Out of the Shadows, Into the Sun'

The CD will be available to buy from Tower and Road Records from tomorrow, or on iTunes and downloadmusic.ie.

Live: The Futureheads at the Academy

Spirited Away green heads
Another new album, another UK band coming over to promote it. This time it's Kate Bush proteges The Futureheads.

They will play the Academy in Dublin on December 17th, with tickets costing €25. Tickets are available now from all the usual sources (probably €90 on eBay).

P.S. Like my Spirited Away picture? What a film.

Live: Razorlight at the Olympia Theatre

Have you heard that new single on the radio? No, not 'Trust Me I'm a Doctor' by the Blizzards, the new Razorlight one? Personally, I'm not sold on it. The need another 'Golden Touch'. Hopefully new album Slipway Fires will have it there somewhere.

They return to our shores to promote that album on November 26th. Tickets for the Olympia show cost €35-€40 and are on sale now.

Watch 'Golden Touch':
